Heart Attack in Women

According to National Institute of Health’s recent study women heart attack symptoms are different as compared to men. The study observed that there are three common heart attack symptoms in women were- breathing trouble, disturbance in sleep, and getting tired quickly. It was also observed that 43% of women did not have chest pain during their entire heart attack.

Some of the common symptoms found prior to heart attack in women- not able to sleep properly in night, indigestion or upper abdominal discomfort,  unusual fatigue, breathing troubles, and anxiety.

Symptoms during the heart attack-

Continues cold sweat, dizziness, vomiting, restlessness, weakness and not able to breadth properly are some of the common heart attack symptoms in women. These symptoms state that heart attack warning signs may not be as unsurprising and encompassing as that in men. Because of this many women are not able to take the heart symptoms seriously. This is totally wrong way to deal with your medical health; one should consult the doctor for mild symptoms as well. If treatment is started on right time danger of heart  failure can be minimized.

How can women avoid the risk of heart attack?

Here are some simple steps which can reduce the risk of heart attack-

  1. Avoid alcohol:  there is a difference between occasionally drinking and daily drinking. Daily drinking habit can lead to heart troubles whereas  limited or occasional drinking can bay the heat attack.
  2. Stop  smoking: to enjoy a long and happy life stop smoking. Ask your doctor to help you stop smoking my following a no-smoking plan.
  3. Eat healthy: to avoid any health  trouble doctors recommend balanced diet plan. Avoid cooking with more salt; do not buy prepared or frozen food because it is high in sodium. Carefully study your calories intake and try to cut down the food items which are high on calories. Avoid saturated food because it increases the level of bad cholesterol in our body. Drink plenty of water and avoid the consumption of caffeine.
  4. Follow workout regime: it’s important to exercise daily for at least 30-45 minutes. Regular workout  regime helps you strengthen your cardiovascular system and help you to stay fit. Daily exercise also helps you to lower your blood pressure and  reduce LDL cholesterol in your body.
  5. Regular  check-up:  regularly get your blood pressure, sugar levels and cholesterol levels checked.

Don’t consume aspirin to prevent yourself from heart troubles; according to the British Heart Foundation, aspirin should not be prescribed to women to limit the risk of heart attack.

Women generally think about breast cancer however, the biggest killer for a woman is heart attack not breast cancer.

Women heart attack  symptoms should be carefully studied as their symptoms are different from men. According to reports, women heart symptoms are not carefully diagnosed; it was noted that women are far less likely to receive the correct heart attack medications. This places them into more danger and less likely to restore the life. The hour of pain is known as golden hour proper and correct treatment should be provided to save a woman’s life.
